Tucson, AZ – March 5, 2019
Tucson, AZ – Arizona Repertory Theatre presents Richard III, the tragic thriller by William Shakespeare, March 11-31, 2019 in the Marroney Theatre located at 1025 N. Olive Road (UA campus located near the SE corner of Park Avenue and Speedway Boulevard).
Richard III, directed by University of Arizona Professor and ART Artistic Director Brent Gibbs, is the wonderfully wicked and incredibly entertaining tale of Shakespeare’s most notorious villain. Misshapen in both body and mind, the Duke of York conspires and kills his way to the crown. Through cunning language and dastardly deeds, he seduces everyone in his path. But can he maintain his ill-gotten reign or will the ghosts from Richard’s past pull him down? Only a cataclysmic conflict will resolve whether evil will prevail or truth will triumph.
Ticket prices range from $17 to $28. Discounts available for seniors, military, UA employee/alumni and groups of 10 or more. Tickets can be purchased at tickets.arizona.edu or by calling the College of Fine Arts Box Office at (520) 621-1162 or in person at 1025 N. Olive Road. Box office hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 12-4pm.
Richard III has a run time of 2 hours 19 minutes including one 15-minute intermission. A pre-show discussion is scheduled on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 12:45pm. A post-show discussion with members of the cast is scheduled on Friday, March 29, 2019 following the performance. Richard III is sponsored by Greg Knopf.
